First meeting of MAGSIG at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (BMAG) where members able to attend met and mingled for the first time, delighted to share more about their interest and experiences in working in partnership with museums and galleries as their capacity as art therapists. Co-Coordinator Sian Hutchinson (and founding member) gave a presentation about insights gathered from her work with Arts in Health projects in Museums and Galleries. This was followed by a discussion and an action plan about how the group can develop. The meeting was tabled and organised by MagSig Coordinators Sian and Ali.
The MAGSIG Spring Meeting took place on 5 April 2014 at the BAAT offices in London. We heard from Helen Chatterjee, Head of Research and Teaching, Museums and Collections, University College London and author of the recently published book ‘Museums, Health and Wellbeing’. We also explored various ways of working with objects, and discussed the priorities for the group.
