The MAGSIG Autumn Meeting took place on October 29th, 2016 at the BAAT offices in London. The Code of Practice was discussed as well as ways in which the profile of the MaGSIG can be raised. A fascinating slew of articles written by various MAGSIG members featured in December 2015 issue of BAAT Newsbriefing. The 4 articles give insight into how our members have brought art therapy practice successfully into gallery and museum settings.  They are great overviews that can be shared easily to further promote art therapy beyond clinical settings.

Ali Coles introduced the Cultural Commissioning Pilot Project and later a workshop session where the use of art materials was encouraged in responding to objects.  Please see meeting minutes (mins25:4) for more details.

In this meeting you will have the opportunity to hear from Art Therapists who have worked on inspiring projects (in museum and galleries) and have the opportunity to discuss their work. We will share together ways of using existing images and objects with participants / clients, creating a list of working methods. You will also have the opportunity to help MagSig develop (and take part) in its first UK pilot project.
